It doesn't have to be this way

Somewhere along the line, our system broke down, and I blame profit-takers. The Health Care market is, by and large, a captive one. Those who seek services almost always NEED them to function, or live. As health care consumers are captive, U.S. consumers are forced to participate in a market that CANNOT EVER be considered "free".

The promises of a Free Market CANNOT apply to captive consumers.

Advanced, civilized nations all have some form of "single payer" system, and typically ban for-profit insurance for anything other than supplemental care. These nations pay HALF per patient what the United States pays, and receive significantly longer life-spans in exchange for the economy of Single Payer.

We do NOT have to re-invent the wheel in the United States, but we DO need a serious adjustment in our priorities and goals.

Flushing our precious Health Care dollars down a golden profit toilet provides ZERO value within our system, unless you are an executive or shareholder. For-profit insurance is a vampire, just sucking money out of the system.
